Traditional Orthodontic/Braces: Correcting misaligned teeth or bite issues, our team at Zen triangle dentistry may recommended orthodontic treatment commonly known as braces. This treatment creates more attractive smile and can alleviate certain issues resulting from misaligned bite. Orthodontics can be used as standalone procedure or as a part of comprehensive treatment plan to place teeth in optimal position prior to any additional restorative procedures. Orthodontic treatment involves strategically attaching metal or ceramic brackets to misaligned teeth connecting them with a specific wire to incrementally adjust teeth and jaw in correct alignment. This procedure begins with polishing and cleaning your teeth to allow for brackets to firmly bond to them. Once brackets are placed, brackets are joined by a wire which is secured with elastic bands. You will typically feel tightness and some soreness when placement is complete which is normal and goes away after a couple of days. During regular follow up appointments, brackets are adjusted to bring teeth into the final desired position for best esthetics. Amount of time required to complete treatment varies with each patient depending on extent of tooth movement needed for each patient. Once completed, your teeth will be in optimal position for better function and esthetics.
